Britney Spears is not the name of just another singer, it symbolise youth power of late 90’s. Not only she had sold more than 20 millions records worldwide, her fame had crossed all possible boundaries. Britney Spears' has been Yahoo!'s most popular search term for the last four consecutive years, seven times in total. Spears was named as Most Searched Person in the Guinness World Records book edition 2007 and 2009 in addition to several Guiness World record to her credit.
Britney Spears full name is Britney Jeans Spears and she was born on December 2, 1981 in the small town of Kentwood, LA. She was a born artist and began performing as a singer and dancer at a young age. With a nationally televised appearance on Star Search Spears auditioned for the Disney Channel's The New Mickey Mouse Club at age eight, where she was rejected being too young. For next three years she studied at the Professional Performing Arts School. At 11, she returned to The New Mickey Mouse Club for a second audition, where she performed with Christina Aguilira, Ryan Gosling and Justin Timberlake.
Spears returned New York at the age of 15 and start auditioning for pop bands and recording demo tapes. Her destiny was about to change, when in 1998 Jive released her debut single, "...Baby One More Time." In the video of same album, she wear’s a schoolgirl uniform and a knotted shirt, revealing her midriff. "The outfits looked kind of dorky, so I was like, 'Let's tie up our shirts and be cute,'" she tells PEOPLE. With the release album entered the charts at number one and stayed there for six weeks. By the end of 1999, ...Baby One More Time had sold ten million copies, and sales were still going on… At 17, Spears was a superstar and her pictures were all over the newspaper and magazines including Rolling Stones where she poses in hot pants and a push up bra.
Her second album “Oops!...I Did It Again” was released in 2000, and the title track was an instant hit. Album again entered the charts at number one and sold over a million copies in its first week of release, setting a new record for single-week sales by a female artist. Oops!...I Did It Again had sold over nine million copies in a year. In the same year Spears and singer Timberlake go public with their romance, when they appeared together at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York.
In 2002, Spears experimented with her debut in a feature-film Crossroads, but result was bit disappointing.
2003 was the year when twists in her personal life started, for a magazine cover story, Spears posed like a designer-clad lap dancer, and admits kissing actor Colin Farrell and losing her much publicized virginity to Timberlake, "I thought he was the one," the pop star says to the magazine, "But I was wrong!" On August 28, new rumors start spreading after kissing Madonna during a performance at MTV Video Music Awards.Same year Spears released her albums In The Zone, and the single "Toxic". Her latest work posed her as a mature (although highly sexualized) adult. Albums topped the charts and Toxic won Spears her first Grammy award for Best Dance Recording.
In 2004, Spears tied knots with her childhood friend Jason Alexander in a Las Vegas ceremony, but the marriage lived a life of only 55 hours.

Spears told PEOPLE, "I find being pregnant empowering. I think it brings out a pure side of you, and I think that's cool." Her first baby Sean Preston Federline was born in September, and a bidding war ensued for first rights to the baby photos.
In 2006, Spears discovered she was pregnant again, pregnant with her second child Britney appeared nude on the August cover of Harper's Bazaar. " shortly after the birth of her second son, Jayden James Federline, she divorced Federline.
In Early 2007, Spears went to Malibu rehab after checking in and out within just a few days. She also shaved her head during this time and released on March 20, after one month stay. Federline filed for custody of their two sons after there divorce got finalized, few weeks later she lost custody of her boys to Federline. In January 2008, Spears locks herself in a room with her youngest son Jayden at her L.A. home and refuses to hand him over to Federline, following which Spears was hospitalized for mental evaluation but was released from hospital in less than 24 hours.
After a high voltage drama in her life Britney was back at work in March 2008 and made a guest appearance on CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother” where her work well acclaimed. In September, she won 3 awards (Video of year, Best Female Video and Best Pop Video) at 2008 MTV Music Video Awards all for her hit “Piece of Me”In December she discusses recording of Circus, which tops the charts and sells more than 500,000 copies and the importance of being a mom with Rolling Stones.
Now the latest rumor is that Britney Spears might possibly join the Sex and the City cast for the sequel to the 2008 hit. According to Heat magazine, Sarah Jessica Parker feels the Briney would be perfect for the role and her idea is to have someone like Britney Spears move to New York as Sarah’s relative.
