Looks like you've managed to go about 200,000. It gets harder to influence or change your rankings as you get closer to the top though. I've never worried too much about alexa ranking because it's just a number in the end. What truly matters is actual visitors interested in your content and site traffic. Both compete.com and quantcast have been better guages for me.
Hi Miles, thanks for showing your interest in knowtheworldaround. I reqally apreciate your valuable experience, I visited compete.com and Quantcast as well and liked the services offered. You rightly said content is reason for success of any of the site and compete and quantcast have their own parameter of gauging the same. But with this importance of Alexa does not get reduced as it is accepted by large number of advertisers while pricing. Also web is a large place and every one can have there own space...
